Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 17 April 2026 Last updated: 17 April 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website nordiqpost.com and any related services, content, or features (collectively, the “Site”) operated by Nordiqpost (“Nordiqpost”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

This is a template. Nordiqpost should review these Terms with a Norwegian lawyer before publishing, especially if the Site adds e-commerce, paid memberships, user accounts, or user-generated content features.

1. About Us

Nordiqpost is an independent online publication covering travel, culture, lifestyle, food, and society in the Nordic countries, with a primary focus on Norway.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Site, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 16 years old (or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian if younger, in line with the digital age of consent in Norway);
  • You have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy;
  • You will use the Site in compliance with these Terms and applicable Norwegian and EEA law.

If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

4. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use of the Site.

You may not:

  • Use the Site in any way that violates Norwegian, EEA, or other applicable law;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our servers, or any related systems or networks;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by introducing viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated tools to extract content beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt or fair, reasonable use;
  • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or commercially exploit any portion of the Site without our prior written consent;
  • Use the Site to transmit unsolicited commercial communications (spam);
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
  • Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, threatening, hateful, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates these Terms, including removing content, terminating access, and reporting violations to relevant authorities.

5. Intellectual Property

5.1 Our content

All content on the Site — including articles, photographs, illustrations, graphics, logos, design elements, video, audio, and software — is the property of Nordiqpost or its licensors and is protected by Norwegian, EEA, and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The “Nordiqpost” name, logo, and related marks are trademarks of Nordiqpost. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

5.2 Your permitted use

You may:

  • View, download, and print articles for personal, non-commercial use;
  • Share links to our articles on social media or in private correspondence;
  • Quote short excerpts (up to ~100 words) for the purposes of review, criticism, news reporting, teaching, or research, with clear attribution and a link back to the original article (consistent with the right of citation under §22 of the Norwegian Copyright Act).

You may not republish, redistribute, mirror, syndicate, or adapt our content — in whole or in part — without our prior written consent.

5.3 Reporting copyright issues

If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, please follow the procedure described in our DMCA Policy.

6. User-Submitted Content

If the Site offers features that allow you to submit content (such as comments, story tips, or correspondence), you retain ownership of your content but grant Nordiqpost a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, and display that content in connection with operating and promoting the Site.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit;
  • The content does not infringe the rights of any third party;
  • The content is not unlawful, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, edit, or remove any user-submitted content at our discretion, without notice.

7. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources that are not owned or controlled by Nordiqpost. We do not endorse and are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

8. Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content

Some articles may include affiliate links — meaning we may earn a small commission if you purchase something through them, at no additional cost to you. This does not influence our editorial opinions. Sponsored or paid content is clearly labelled.

9. Disclaimers

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by Norwegian law.

While we make reasonable efforts to keep our content accurate and up to date, Nordiqpost does not warrant that:

  • The Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure;
  • Defects will be corrected;
  • The content is accurate, complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose;
  • Any information (including travel, food, health, legal, financial, or other guidance) is suitable for your specific situation.

Information published on Nordiqpost is for general informational and editorial purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice. Always seek qualified professional guidance before making decisions based on what you read here, especially regarding travel safety, health, legal matters, or finances.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Norwegian law, Nordiqpost — together with its editors, contributors, partners, and service providers — shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
  • Any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under Norwegian consumer protection law (forbrukerkjøpsloven and the Consumer Rights Directive).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nordiqpost and its editors, contributors, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

  • Your access to or use of the Site;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

12. Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of Norway.

Subject to mandatory rules of consumer protection law, you and Nordiqpost agree that the courts of Norway shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any such dispute.

If you are a consumer resident in another EEA country, you may also benefit from the mandatory protections of the consumer law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country in addition to the Norwegian courts.

15. Online Dispute Resolution

If you are an EU/EEA consumer, you have the right to use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform to resolve disputes: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and DMCA Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nordiqpost regarding your use of the Site and supersede any prior agreements.
